INTERMEDIATE CERAMICS BOOTCAMPS
We will spend the first weeks of class reviewing some of the techniques and skills you have learned and adding a few new form and surface tools to your toolbox.
Some of these early days will be one or two day projects. Others will be in a rotation style with 15-20 min spent working in different stations where students will follow tutorials and instructions to learn new technical and creation techniques.
New techniques explored in this early section may include:
newspaper as a temporary mold armature
hump and slump molds
extruder
slip trailing
mashima
use of red iron oxide on extreme texture
image transfer
After the completion of the skill section, students will begin the project section. Student will have their choice of techniques that were previously worked with to use during the theme of their choosing.
