Wedging.
Wedging is a method of "kneading" or pushing on the clay repeatedly, for purposes of removing air bubbles and trapped moisture. Every time you get new clay, you should wedge!

ASSIGNMENT:
Watch one of these two tutorials. Grab a grapefruit sized piece of clay. If it is not moist, use some water to get it so. Wedge. (When starting, good wedging takes a few minutes, 50-60 rotations.) Put the wedged piece of clay in a bag and save it for the teacher to check.
