GLAZE INTRO
Today students will learn the basics of color theory, how it applies to glaze application and the actually process for selecting and applying glaze. As students rotate through the stations, they will stop and chat with the teacher offering feedback and check-ins. Students are expected to have all stations done in one class block.
STATION 1: Color Theory and Basic Properties of Glaze
STATION 2: Glaze Choice, Application and Firing
STATION 3: Mixing Glazes
STATION 4: Choose and apply 2 to 3 high fire glazes onto one of your test tiles.

- Glaze should be the consistency of beaten egg whites.
- 2-3 coats of each glaze.
- No glaze on the bottom without permission.
- Label the back of tiles with glaze numbers, using red iron oxide.
- Make notes of glaze thickness, number of coats and glaze names/ numbers in your sketchbook.
